Raleigh Bikes is one of the longest standing bike brands in the world. Raleigh was established in 1890 by Sir Frank Bowden in the city of Nottingham.
The name Raleigh acquires from the street name Raleigh Street as this is where Mr Bowden first went about his business. Although the company was formed in 1890 Mr Bowden did show initial interest in the bicycle industry in 1887.
The functionality of every bike is important at Raleigh, it must be "fit for purpose" and reliable. To achieve this, high quality materials and components are used throughout.
Raleigh Strada bikes are designed with a number of things in mind that is to be attractive, stylish and agile around town. All the Strada range is built on a lightweight frame and are all ready for the attachment of mudguards and carriers. Our latest frame design benefits from hydro-forming technologies for added strength and selected models have double butted tubing for extra lightness and a more responsive feel.
Raleigh have built the Strada around versatility as they wanted the perfect bike whether it is for commuting purposes, riding for leisure or popping to the shops
The Raleigh Strada 3 is like the Strada’s 1 and 2 built on a lightweight aluminum frame. However the frame on the Strada 3 is built on aluminum forks which giving it a lighter weight therefore making the steering of this bike more precise.
There are a number of differences/enhancements from the Strada 2 including, a 27 speed Shimano gear system which includes Rapid fire shifters for easier and slicker gear changing. Furthermore the Strada 3 is equipped with SRAM S650 crankset with a smaller 26 tooth inner ring to help you scale the steepest hills.
Like the Strada 1 and 2 the 3 comes with powerful V brakes.
